Gameday Recap: Louisville Vs. North Carolina (Pressers Included)

The Louisville men’s basketball team dropped a heartbreaker on Tuesday night in a 90-83 overtime loss to North Carolina at home. Louisville falls to 11-11 and 5-7 in conference play. North Carolina is now 16-6 and 8-3.

El Ellis led all scorers with 25 points while also collecting 2 rebounds, and dishing out 2 assists. Matt Cross added 13 points and 15 boards. Sydney Curry and Jae’Lyn Withers were also in double figures.

For North Carolina, Brady Manek led the way with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Armando Bacot. Five different Tar Heels scored in double figures.

The season may seem lost at this point, but there is an undeniable buzz around this team that simply was not present at any point during the past two seasons. The players look re-energized. The fans are showing up at the Yum! Center again.

Louisville still has an 11-11 record, but the program seems to be in a much better spot right now than it was a week ago. It feels fun to be a Louisville basketball fan again. Let’s enjoy these next few weeks.
