On Monday afternoon,  Coach Scott Sattefield and staff picked up their first commitment of 2024 following a LARGE recruiting weekend in the Ville. After the 502 BBQ Recruiting Event, 2024 4 Star prospect Isaac Brown popped for the Cards. He’s a 5’9 180 lbs RB out of Homestead, FL.

Brown picked the Cards over a host of big time programs like Georgia, Florida, Texas A&M, and his hometown school University of Miami. Issac is rated the #7 running back in the 2024 class and Top 150 player nationally per 247sports.

Looking at highlights, Brown is a dynamic back that can be utilized in the passing game as well as the running game. His high school utilizes him as a punt returner, kick returner, slot receiver, and running back. He excels in all those aspects due to the fact he has NFL-type speed, acceleration, and quickness.

It’s not often a RB can be used as a slot receiver and be just as excellent as he is out of the backfield, but that is Brown. The speed and lateral quickness allows him to get excellent separation and be wide open. He will make the catch and gets plenty of YAC yards; a true threat to take it to the house.

Where Brown truly shines is in the backfield. He’s got next level acceleration and is able to utilize great vision to see the hole and bust through untouched. He’s generally a one-cut back, meaning he’s looking to make one cut and go. He can make nifty moves in the open field to make tacklers miss and he’s got great balance and lower body strength that allows him to run through attempted arm tackles. His greatest asset is still his speed. He can outrun even good pursuit angles.

Isaac Brown is a ridiculously good RB who could easily be a 5 Star player when rankings are updated. UofL getting a player of his caliber this early is not something fans are used to, but it’s a sign of the times. The sleeping giant that is UofL football appears to have awakened.
