Highly Regarded 2023 Center Isaiah Miranda Visiting Louisville

2023 4 Star C Isaiah Miranda is currently visiting UofL. Coach Kenny Payne is really beginning to turn the heat up on the 2023 trail and Miranda has emerged as a top target. Miranda is a 7’0 200 lbs prospect that plays for Southern California Academy. He is originally from the northeast.

In addition to his Louisville offer, Miranda currently holds offers from USC, Oregon, UCLA, Texas, and Georgetown, among others. 247sports has him ranked as the 33rd-overall prospect nationally and the 5th-best prospect at his position in their composite rankings.

Miranda is a highly skilled big. He can play around the basket and finish or he can be used as a pick-and-pop center. His shot from 3-point range is ridiculous for a player of his size. What really strikes me is Miranda’s ability to actually handle the basketball. He’s a threat to pump fake and drive or even showed ability to bring the ball up the court from the defensive backcourt. To be honest, I struggle to see how there are 5 better center prospects than Isaiah Miranda. My only knock would be he needs to add a little more weight. The one fear I have is he could get pushed around by stronger players. However, the skill and length may negate that issue entirely.

This is one of the first true big prospects on campus for 2023. A top 50 player that is unique in his skill and style. I think if UofL would be able to secure his commitment, Miranda could blossom under Coach Payne’s development and be a one-and-done. Hopefully, his visit goes well this weekend.
