Reaction To Hiring Of New Louisville FB Coach Jeff Brohm

A new and old era collided Thursday when the University of Louisville officially hired Jeff brohm as the new head coach of the program. Jeff Brohm was born and raised in Louisville playing high school football at Trinity High School before committing to play for his hometown Louisville Cardinals. Brohm ranks in the top ten in school history in both passing touchdowns and passing yards. After the announcement Thursday, CSZ reached out to a couple of Brohm’s new players and a certain Cardinal Forever to give their thoughts on Coach Brohm.

Brock Domann had this to say: “All of us in the locker room are excited for this coaching staff to come in. We see what he did at Purdue & are ready to get to work for him. He brings in a dynamic offense & that is what this team needs.”

Jawhar Jordan, who towards the end of the season made it clear he’s the premiere back for next season, was very excited about the hire. He said this: “I can already see how much the city cares for Brohm and I’m sure that love is reciprocated. I love the passion he has for the game. Definitely something the team will feed off of. Also im sure Coach Brohm will have us more involved with the city of Louisville. I’m looking forward to that.”

Jordan is gonna be a versatile back next season who is already a tough runner. He averaged 9.3 yards per reception this year on 9 catches. Look for those numbers to increase exponentially in the new offensive scheme. My prediction for next year is to see Jawhar go for over 1200 yards rushing next season and be a First Team All-ACC player. He has the talent to do so and with an offensive scheme that’s gonna keep defenses off balance, he will shine.

It’s not just the players who are excited. Cardinal great and all time passing yard and passing touchdown school record holder Chris Redman told CSZ: “Man I am pumped! This is the best move we have made in a long time! We will bring a brand of football that people love to watch around here again.”

Even though these are just a few reactions, you can definitely get a feel for the excitement and hope Brohm’s hire brings. A new era begins, but it has threads throughout the modern era of UofL football. A player for Coach Schnellenberger, a coach for Bobby Petrino, and now the head coach. Jeff Brohm will look to return UofL to former glory and then exceed what his predecessors did. It appears many are buying in already. It appears he will get us back on the course for a collision with the championship and truly the only variable is once again time.
