Mark Ivey And Deion Branch Will Remain With Louisville FB

Two very popular members of the Louisville football staff will remain with the program. Coach Jeff Brohm has made the decision to retain defensive line coach Mark Ivey and director of player development and alumni relations Deion Branch. Branch will resume his role with the program while it hasn’t been decided what position Coach Ivey will be coaching.

Ivey has been with the program for 4 seasons, having been brought in by former coach Scott Satterfield. Former and current players and player’s parents have heaped praise upon Coach Ivey. He is a fiery coach that can usually be seen pregame getting players hyped up and ready to play. There is some belief he will coach linebackers rather than defensive line, but his position on staff has yet to be determined.

Branch is one of the greatest receivers in program history. He also was a Super Bowl MVP with the New England Patriots. In his current role, he helps current players prepare for life after football and he is the contact between alumni players and the school. Branch is a positive presence who makes sure players are ready for life after football, but he also is a sideline presence during games offering positive reenforcement and support to players.

Both Coach Ivey and Branch are welcome additions to Coach Jeff Brohm’s staff. They will offer some continuity and they fit with the culture that the new coach is bringing.
