Louisville men’s basketball picked up what many deemed a surprise commit from 6’9 forward Emmanuel Okorafor. However, if you’ve been listening to the CSZ podcast the last few months, we have hinted at UofL looking at a post player in the NBA Academy Africa. Okorafor is a prospect from the NBA Academy Africa and a native of Lagos, Nigeria. He is eligible immediately for the Cards.
Okorafor averaged 9.1 ppg, 10.4 rpg, and 1.8 apg*. He’s a power forward by trade and is a high level athlete with a 37 inch vertical and 7’5 wingspan.

While he is young and still developing, his rebounding ability and effort could be used immediately for a UofL team sorely lacking in those departments. Okorafor is a particularly good rebounder who really excels at blocking out and crashing the offensive glass. He’s still pretty raw, but the potential is through the roof.
