Curry led the Cal Bears in scoring and minutes played per game with 15.5ppg and 32.9mpg. Curry had 23 games where she scored in double digits and she also led the team in scoring 18 times.
She was second on the team with 106 assists last year, which averaged out to be 3.5apg. At 5’6, Curry also wasn’t afraid to mix it up in the paint. She came away with 3.5rpg for the Bears last year.
As a freshman, Curry averaged 34.5mpg, 18.6ppg, 2.8apg, 1.3spg and 3.7rpg. Curry made all 23 starts and shot 33.6% from beyond the arc. She scored a team high 30 points vs #2 Stanford on the road.
Curry is a dynamic scorer and is a terrific add to the backcourt to play along side Hailey Van Lith. With her ability to score, it will take a lot of pressure and focus off of HVL. Curry’s propensity to knock down open 3s will create more space for Olivia Cochran to operate in the post. Jayda will be counted on to provide major minutes in the backcourt. Luckily, she’s no stranger to playing a lot of minutes. Jayda played 794 minutes in 23 games her freshman year (34.5mpg) and 988 minutes in 30 games as a sophomore (32.9mpg).
