A 6’8 210 lbs G/F, Flowers joins the Cards after playing for Combine Academy in NC. Rated a 4 Star prospect, Flowers is ranked 28th-overall nationally by 247sports composite rankings. He fielded 31 offers before choosing UofL. Among them were offers from Alabama, North Carolina, Kansas, uk, Memphis, Creighton, Michigan, and Kansas State.
Flowers was a dynamic player for Combine Academy. During the 2022-2023 season, he averaged 16 points per game, 6 rebounds per game, and 1.2 assists per game. He shot 51-percent from the field, 27-percent from the arc, and 74-percent from the foul line. *stats provided by MaxPreps.
While Flowers’ size may seem that of a F, he did play G for Combine. It appears, he will be utilized as a G/F for UofL. A 6’9 guard is a rarity in basketball, but not unheard of. Guys like Zach LaVine and Magic Johnson are a couple of examples. Coach Kenny Payne will need Flowers to mature quickly as a reclass and provide scoring punch for the 2023-2024 team to truly thrive.
