Jeff Brohm and staff just went into the talent-rich state of Alabama and came out with their second highly touted recruit, this time in the frame of a 6’4, 230 lbs edge rusher!
CJ May from Highland Home High School in Highland, Alabama just committed to the University of Louisville. May trimmed his impressive offer list down to the top 4 on July 7th, those schools were: Louisville, Washington, Auburn and Syracuse. He was originally committed to Notre Dame, but decommitted back in February.

At Louisville, May will get his chances as an edge rusher. I do expect him to get some snaps in at outside linebacker in specialty pass rushing situations. May is very good at using his hands to keep separation from blockers. If the blockers do engage, he’s strong enough to not only disengage, but move them out of his way and get to the ball carrier.
CJ plays football at a different level, he plays with a discipline and composure you don’t see from a lot of players. He always has his head on a swivel and trust his eyes so he’s not easily fooled. May shows a willingness to take on blockers to set the edge in the run game.
With the commitment of CJ May, this gives Louisville 13 commitments in the 2025 class so far and their 8th on the defensive of the ball.
