TWICA: November 3rd – November 10th

Welcome back for another edition of This Week In Cardinal Athletics for the week of November 3rd – November 10th.

Men’s Basketball (1-1):

The Cardinals’ Men’s Basketball Team had a roller coaster start to the opening week of the season. Check out Ben’s Recaps from the opening season victory on Monday night before falling to #12 Tennessee.

#18 Women’s Basketball (1-1):

The Cardinals’ Women’s Basketball Team also had a roller coaster start to the opening week of the season. The Cardinals traveled to Paris, France to start the season #5 UCLA. Unfortunately, despite an outstanding performance from freshman Tajianna Robert’s with 21pts, the Cardinals fell 66-59. The Cardinals then hosted Southern Indiana in the home opener and the Cardinals got back on track with a 75-51 victory. Senior Olivia Cochran led the Cardinals with 15pts.

Up Next: They travel to TN-Martin on Tuesday the 12th at 7pm. Then, they go to Lexington on Saturday for a matchup with Kentucky.

#3 Volleyball (21-3):

The Cardinals continued their winning streak this week with picking up 2 victories over Syracuse and Boston College. These two victories were also part of the now 4 straight for clean sweeps for the Cardinals. Senior Anna DeBeer had an excellent performance with 13 kills in the victory over Syracuse. Charitie Luper contributed with 9 kills in the sweep of Boston College.

Up Next: The Cardinals host Duke on Friday and host North Carolina Sunday both are at the L&N Credit Union Arena.

Men’s Soccer (6-7-4):

The Men’s Soccer season came to an end with a 3-1 loss to #7 Clemson. The Cardinals struggled to find multiple goals. In the 48th minute, Clemson scored off a penalty goal with a goal from TJ Kaholii. Then, Clemson scored 2 more goals in 58th minute and 60th minute.Clemson outshot the Cardinals 16-12 on the night and held a 9-4 corner kick advantage.

#22 Football (6-3):

Football travels to Stanford for the first time in Program history on Saturday at 3:30pm. Check out what Coach Jeff Brohm had to say before the matchup with the Cardinal.
