Yesterday was a special day for the city of Louisville, 04-05 Final Four Team, & myself.
I went back to UofL in 2004 to finish up my degree that I had fallen short of when I got injured at UofL in 1998. I had a tough time losing my dream & handled it the wrong way…I dropped out.
My next door neighbor growing up was Terrance Farley. He had signed with Rick Pitino & was set to embark on his freshman year at UofL. Nervous because he was still young & was comfortable with my guidance, he talked me into going back & finishing my story. (Steve will hate that)
I did go back to school & had the time of my life. The group of guys that I hung out with was this 04-05 team. You hear me compare a lot of teams to them. That’s why. These guys loved each other, hung out with each other, & wanted the best for each other. They were the best group of guys I had been around since my playing days.
I am so glad they got to get another moment in the spotlight. They truly deserve it. Not only did they set an example of how a team should be, they set an example of how to be good people. To Larry, TZ, Perrin, Cisco, Ellis, Dean, Juan, Jenks, Otis, CC, BG & Zo…..Thank you.
