Eddie King, Jr. delivered the go-ahead RBI double in the seventh inning, and Louisville (40-22) held off Miami (35-27) in the final innings to secure a 3-2 win.
With the win, Louisville advances to the College World Series for the first time since 2019, and the sixth time in program history. They’ll be joining Arizona and Coastal Carolina, plus the winner of Florida State / Oregon State, on their side of the bracket in a double-elimination round, starting next weekend.
Miami got on the board first, coming on a two-run homer from Max Galvin in the third inning to put the Hurricanes ahead 2-0.
Louisville would tie the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Zion Rose added an RBI double to cut the deficit to 2-1. Bayram Hot beat out a potential double play throw to first base, which allowed Rose to score and tie the game at 2-2.
The Cardinals kept the game tied in the sixth and seventh innings, despite multiple scenarios for Miami to take the lead. Miami had the bases loaded in the top of the sixth with Jake Schweitzer on the mound, but a 1-2-3 double play ended the inning to keep the Hurricanes scoreless.

Schweitzer made it through the seventh and eighth innings without allowing a run, setting up for a dramatic ninth inning. Justin West struck out two batters and had two walks, with Brennyn Cutts retiring Miami’s Jake Ogden with runners on first and second base to close the game.
Eddie King, Jr. once again provided a spark for the Cardinals, batting 1-for-3 with the game winning RBI in the seventh inning. For the series, King batted 6-for-10 with two home runs, two doubles, and four RBIs.
Tague Davis (2-for-4) and Jake Munroe (2-for-3) had multi-hit games, with Zion Rose (1-for-4, RBI) and Bayram Hot (1-for-3) adding RBIs. Munroe also had a strong series, batting 5-for-10 with three home runs and six RBIs.
Ethan Eberle pitched five innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits, with Jake Schweitzer (3.0 IP, 2 H), Justin West (0.2 IP, 2 Ks, 2 BBs), and Brennyn Cutts (0.1 IP) providing four shutout innings from the bullpen.
Max Galvin led Miami with a 2-for-4 afternoon, providing their only two runs of the game with his two-run homer in the third inning. Daniel Cuvet (2-for-4) was the only other Miami hitter with a multi-hit game.
Louisville now awaits their schedule in the College World Series, and will join Arizona, Coastal Carolina, and the winner of Florida State/Oregon State in a double elimination bracket, which starts next weekend.
