The 2025 season for Louisville football is set to kick off at 3 pm on Saturday. The Cardinals open against in-state foe Eastern Kentucky University. Earlier this summer, UofL unveiled retro-style jerseys, ditching the wings for the white, black, and red stripes. It’s fitting that to unveil the new jerseys with a complete retro-style uniform combo.
It’s the white helmet with the red cardinal head, the new red jersey with red, black, and white stripes, and the white pants with red, black, and white stripes. This is as classic as it gets outside of going with the old red rage helmets. It’s a throwback to the late 80s and early 90s during Howard Schnellenberger’s heyday.
