I was born and raised in Louisville. I picked up a camera a few years ago as a hobby, and it quickly turned into something I was completely hooked on. Now I’m lucky enough to cover the team I grew up watching and loving. I’m a husband to my wife Renee’ (the pretty girl with the curly hair who you might see shooting women’s basketball for CSZ) and a proud dad to Landyn and Layla. I’m also a Christian, which just feels like the best starting point for everything I do. Always learning, I love to experiment and try new things with photography. So if you see me at a game with some old camera from the 80s or a GoPro strapped to my head, just roll with it.

 Go Cards!

No description available.

I picked up a camera in 2024 and never looked back. My grandfather was a professional photographer back in his day and I wish he could see me now, as neither of us would’ve expected that I follow in his footsteps. My husband, Keith Russell (who also shoots for CSZ), is the one to put the camera in my hands though – seeing my potential and encouraging me to join him in sports photography; something I’m so grateful for! As a disciple of Jesus, a wife, and a stay at home mom who homeschools – those roles shape how I approach both life and photography. I’m constantly learning new things and growing in all aspects! I use photography as a ministry to bring others to Christ so you can bet on catching me in a hoodie with a message on it. Raw emotion and storytelling in creative compositions draw me in like a magnet and I love that I get to navigate and explore that more as a sports photographer!

Mitch Motley: @Mitch_Motley3

MM3 (middle, lol)

I’m Mitch Motley, a UofL student pursuing a degree in biology. My love for UofL sports started at birth. My dad welcomed me to the Cardinal family and watching games with my dad will always be some of my favorite memories. Through watching games with family, I saw Cardinal athletics as family as well. That’s why I love UofL. Go Cards!

Editors note

-We aren’t sure he really exists

-We have since learned he does

Katie Goben: @katiegoben

I grew up watching and loving all things UofL. Some of my earliest memories are attending basketball games at freedom hall with my dad (the smell of caramel popcorn still gives me chills), and I’ve been hooked ever since. I graduated from the University of Louisville in 2014 and I’m so excited to be part of the CSZ family!

I’m part of the Collison Course Tailgate Family. I also have season tickets to all sports with my college brothers. When I’m not working I like to cook, spend time with my entire family, and enjoy sports. Go Cards!

  1. I actually did 2 videos before the season for some friends to enjoy. I do this for fun so I don’t have professional programs to make videos. I use windows movie maker and get all my clips from youtube. My songs I download from iTunes. These 2 videos are not viewable on mobile devices because the owner of the music reclaimed their copyrights so they can profit from the ads on youtube. Just thought I would share these videos because somebody might enjoy them. Thanks! GO CARDS!

  2. My name is Jonathan Gramling, the editor of The Capital City Hues. I am doing a cover story on Reece Gaines. I would like to use this photo on the cover. I need a print quality photo in order to do it. Can you help me?
The Photo is of Reece dribbling the ball against Marquette. It would fit my cover perfectly. Please help me out.
