*Women’s Basketball– The ladies beat Georgetown yesterday 64-61 on the road. The Cards are now 16-4, 5-2 and Georgetown is 15-5, 4-3. That was a big road win. Shoni Schimmel led the Cards with 19 points and also had 6 assists. Becky Burke had 13 points, including four 3 pointers. Bria Smith had 10 points and 7 assists. Antonita Slaughter came off the bench and had 11 points. Next up for the Cards will be Saturday at 2:00 as they host Villanova.
*Men’s Tennis– UofL improved to 3-0 on the season with a 6-1 victory over 38th ranked Maryland. The Cards next match will be Jan 27-29 in Durham, NC at the ITA National Kick-Off Weekend.
*Track & Field– The Cards competed in the Gladstein Invitational this weekend in Bloomington, IN. Seon Powell and Wesley Smith earned Big East qualifying marks in the long jump.
*Women’s Tennis– A rough weekend for the Cards, as they lost on Friday to Arkansas 6-1, and lost Saturday to Stephen F. Austin 5-2. They return to action on Saturday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center against Austin Peay at 4:00.
*CSZ– Later today, we will release one of the most special stories we have ever had, and probably ever will have. It is about a former Cardinal Legend, and you will want to take the time to read this. Stay tuned!
