Sheldon Rankins commits to the Cards

On Tuesday night, the Cards got another big football committment for the 2012 season. Defensive End, Sheldon Rankins, is a 3 star prospect from Eastside High School in Covington, Georgia. He is 6’3 245 lbs. He had offers from Stanford, Nebraska, Cincinnati, Kentucky, USF, Indiana, Boston College, Ole Miss, N.C. St., UNC, Wake Forest, Mississippi St., Vanderbilt, and others. Before suffering a hairline fracture last season, he was also getting serious looks from Auburn.

While UofL coaches (Hurtt and Bedford) were making a visit with Rankins and his family on Tuesday night, Rankins said he had to go use the restroom. But he really went into the other room and put on a Louisville hat he had already bought, and came back into the room and “everybody went crazy after that.”

Here is a highlight video of Sheldon Rankins. Looks like the Cards got a beast for the defensive line!
