It was a very busy weekend in UofL sports. Ten Cardinal teams participated in events from Friday to Sunday. In head to head competitions, UofL teams went 10-3 overall for the weekend. That doesn’t include Swimming or Track & Field, where it was more than just two teams facing each other. Here is a recap, along with other CSZ news…
*Jeremy posted a new blog on Sunday, and it is definitely worth your time to read. It is about former Cardinal (and Jeremy’s close friend) Troy Jackson. If you haven’t yet, go ahead and check it out now.
*Also on Sunday, CSZ’s own Jeremy and Steve were guests on 95.3 WFBR radio in Mt. Washington, KY. CSZ started this last Sunday with a 15-20 minute time slot on their sports call-in show. The show is from 6-7 pm and CSZ usually comes on around 6:15 or so. If you missed it, listen to it here. Jeremy and Steve come on around the 18:30 mark to talk about the UofL-DePaul game and to discuss recruiting.
*A huge congratulations goes out to the UofL Swim teams. The women’s team captured the Big East Championship this weekend in Pittsburgh, PA and the men’s team finished in 2nd place.
*Men’s Basketball picked up a road win on Saturday at DePaul and are now 21-6, 9-5. In a game that was much closer than expected, the Cards rallied back from 17 points down to take the lead, then lose the lead at the end of regulation. They then went into overtime and closed out the Blue Demons 90-82. Kyle Kuric led the way with 25 points. The Cards next game is a big one on Thursday at Cincinnati.
