It was another great weekend in UofL athletics! From Friday-Sunday, Cards teams went a combined 11-1! It is another busy week and weekend ahead, but before that, let’s recap this past weekend…
*CSZ– As always, CSZ was represented on the radio on Sunday evening on 95.3 WFBR. Jeremy represented CSZ this week and discussed the Pittsburgh basketball game and the rest of the season for the Cards. If you missed it, listen here. Jeremy comes on around the 8 minute mark.
*Men’s Basketball– The 17th ranked Cards beat Pittsburgh 57-54 on Sunday afternoon at the KFC Yum! Center. The Cards improved to 22-7, 10-6 on the season, while Pittsburgh dropped to 15-14, 4-12. Louisville has clinched at least a first round bye in the Big East Tournament, and they can finish no worse than 7th place. There is still an outside shot at 4th place and a double-bye. That would involve the Cards winning both remaining games and a couple of other teams losing, so we will see what happens there. Up next for the Cards will be South Florida (18-11, 11-5) on Wednesday at 7:00 for the last home game of the season. Here are the Big East standings.
*Women’s Basketball– On Saturday, the 16/17 ranked Cards defeated 21/18 ranked DePaul 75-62. The Cards improved to 20-8, 9-6 and DePaul dropped to 20-9, 8-7. It was Senior Day for Becky Burke, who scored 20 points in her final home game for the Cards. Next up for the Cards will be a road game at Seton Hall (8-21, 1-14) tonight at 7:00.
*Baseball– It was a great weekend for the Cards baseball team, as they swept Oakland in a 3 game series and are now 6-1 on the season. They won their games 7-4, 10-7, and 6-3. Their next game is tomorrow as they host Eastern Illinois at Jim Patterson Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00.

*Softball– The Cards continued their amazing start to the season by sweeping Creighton in a 3 game series! They are now 12-0 on the season! They won their games 8-0, 7-0, and 4-0. Next weekend, they head to Knoxville, TN for 5 games in the Tennessee Classic.
*Tennis– The men defeated Wake Forest 4-3. Their next match is Wednesday at 5:00 against Northwestern at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The women beat Toledo 7-0. Their next match is Saturday on the road at Miami (Ohio).
*Lacrosse– The Cards beat Longwood 19-8 on Friday, but lost to Old Dominion 14-12 on Sunday. They have their home opener this Friday at 2:00 against Denver.
