On Monday night, the 7th ranked UofL men’s soccer team finished off their exhibition schedule by defeating Lipscomb by a score of 4-0. It was their first game at Cardinal Park this season, and they did not disappoint. The Cards finished the preseason 3-0, and will open the regular season this Sunday at Maryland.
It took a while, but once the Cards scored once, they did not let up. Ade Akinsanya scored first in the 28th minute, and then about 37 seconds later, Will Vitalis scored to make it 2-0.
These two pictures are the sequence of Akinsanya’s goal.
Ryan Smith scored in the 49th minute to keep the momentum going for the Cards. Then after Dylan Mares was tackled inside the penalty box, junior Andrew Farrell converted on the penalty kick and that made the lead 4-0, which ended up being the final score.
Here is a 2 minute video of game action, that ends with the penalty kick made by Farrell!
