“Full Deck of Cards” this weekend

This weekend marks the start of fall, however, UofL fall sports are already in full swing. This weekend is no different as several programs are in action. Most notably, No.20 ranked UofL football team (3-0)travels to Miami as they face Florida International University (1-2) in their first road game of the season. The game will be televised on ESPN3 (online) and kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
The women’s soccer team (6-2) will be action Friday night, Sep.21st, as they host BIG EAST opponent Syracuse (4-4) (7pm). The Cards will honor players from Canada and Mexico before the match as part of International Night at Cardinal Park. Fans will receive free mini balls and commemorative posters as part of the festivities. The Cards will also be in action Sunday, Sep.23rd, as they host St.Johns at Cardinal Park (1pm.)

After an impressive victory against Ohio State in their last match, men’s soccer (4-3) returns to action this Saturday, Sep.22nd, as they host Notre Dame (7-0). The match will start the teams BIG EAST portion of the schedule. The match will be held at Cardinal Park at 7pm.
After a lengthy road trip, the field hockey team (5-3) will begin BIG EAST play Friday, Sep.21st, as they host Georgetown (2-6). The game will be held at Trager Stadium (6pm) as part of Greek Night. Fans will receive free croakies and UofL field hockey t-shirts and the first 100 fans receive free Penn Station.

No.10 ranked volleyball puts their 11-1 record on the line this weekend as they host a pair of BIG EAST games. The Cards will play DePaul (5-7) Friday, Sep.21st, at the KFC YUM! center at 7pm. The Cards conclude the weekend Sunday, Sep.23rd, as they host Notre Dame (7-5) at 2pm.
Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams return home this weekend to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center as they host the Louisville Fall Invitational. The invitational lasts all weekend and matches last all day.
Men’s golf is set to participate in their only home event of the season next Monday and Tuesday. After finishing second at The McLaughlin, the team will play at the UofL Cardinal Club on Sep.24 and 25th. The event is all day.
After a successful Red and Black day, an annual kickoff event, the rowing team will travel to Indiana this Saturday, Sep.22nd, as they scrimmage against the Hoosiers. The event is all day.
The baseball team is set to host another weekend of scrimmages. The scrimmages, at Jim Patterson Stadium, will be Friday, Sep.21st, at 2:45 pm, Saturday at 1pm, and conclude Sunday at 1pm. The scrimmages are free.
