Men’s Soccer advances in NCAA Tournament!

On Sunday night, the UofL Men’s Soccer team (13-5-2, 7-1) hosted an NCAA 2nd round tournament game at Cardinal Park. As the 10th overall seed in the tournament, the Cards beat Winthrop (12-8-2, 5-4-1) easily by a score of 5-0 to advance to the Sweet 16.

Redshirt sophomore Dylan Mares scored 3 goals to lead the Cards, who scored their first goal just 54 seconds into the game and never looked back. Along with the 3 goals from Mares, the Cards also got 1 goal each from senior Greg Cochrane and junior Zach Foxhoven.

The Cards actually get to host their next game as well! They will face Northwestern at Cardinal Park on Sunday, November 25 at 7 pm. The winner will then advance to the quarterfinals on December 1! Go Cards!
