No matter who wins in this weekend’s NFL playoffs and makes it to the Super Bowl and wins that, the Louisville Cardinals will have a player that gets a Super Bowl ring this year. Why? Because of the final four teams remaining, there is a former Card on each team! Here is the rundown of who plays on which team…
*New England Patriots- Deion Branch WR: In 2012, Branch had 16 catches for 145 yards. For his career, Branch has 518 receptions for 6,644 yards and 39 touchdowns!
*Atlanta Falcons- Harry Douglas WR: In the 2012 regular season, Douglas had 38 catches for 396 yards and 1 touchdown! In the playoffs, he has 2 catches for 3 yards. For his career, Douglas has 122 receptions for 1,508 yards and 4 touchdowns!
*San Francisco 49ers- David Akers K: In the 2012 regular season, Akers was 29/42 on field goals. He made one from 63 yards this season! He was 44/44 on extra points. In the playoffs, he is 1/1 on field goals and 6/6 on extra points. For his career, Akers is 367/453 on field goals and 521/527 on extra points!
*Baltimore Ravens- Chris Johnson CB: In 2012, Johnson had 7 tackles and 1 forced fumble. For his career, he has 160 tackles, 17 assisted tackles, 4 forced fumbles, 8 interceptions, and 1 touchdown!
Also, another former Card that ended up transferring plays for the Ravens. Anthony Allen began his career at UofL, but finished his career at Georgia Tech.
