4* QB Dj Gillins (Jacksonville FL) will be on the UofL campus this weekend. Gillins is rated as high as the #1 Dual threat QB on some sites and is loaded with potential. As high as Gillins is rated, it could have been even higher. Gillins tore his ACL in his 2012 Jr season but seems to be recovering greatly. After de commiting from Texas Tech Gillins now has very high interest in the Cards and has a close relationship with Louisville Commit Isaiah Ford. Gillins called Ford “The best WR in the state of Florida” in a recent interview with Mike Hughes. Louisville clearly is going to land another QB in this class and with OK St transfer Wes Lunt prolonging his decision it will be interesting to see the Strong and company extend an offer to Gillins this weekend. At 6’3 and 4.5 speed Gillins is exactly the type of QB that could come in an compete to fill the void that will almost surely be left by Bridgewater after this year.
