In what has to seem like the shortest offseason our program has had around the board, I’m happy to say it’s getting shorter. One month from today starts the college football season and today it was unofficially kicked off with the release of the USA Today Preseason top 25 poll. Before its release most Card fans were sure about one thing, it needed to be one of the highest preseason rankings in UofL history to be able to reach the elusive BCS National Championship game. Steve Rummage from here at CSZ predicted we would need to start top 12 to have a shot but that we would probably be from 8-10. Well wonder no more because the University Of Louisville Cardinals check into the first preseason poll at number 9. This is in fact one of the highest preseason rankings in school history. Being led by 15 award watch athletes and returning 7 offensive starters and 12 players who started on defense at one time or another this isn’t much of a surprise. Will the year of the Cardinal get a 6 month extension? L-Yeah! Click on tab for full poll
