CardNation Speaks: 2013 Opener (Part 3)

IMG_0118

So I have been telling you guys that one thing that I pride myself in is staying completely interactive with CardNation. I follow everyone back on Twitter, answer every question, and talk to everyone no matter what time of the day I get hit with a random DM on twitter. I feel like that’s important, and a part of what sets us apart from a majority of the other sites out there. I wanted to do a game week story about what you all were feeling about Sunday and what was your favorite gameday rituals or things to do. I DM’d several people that I converse with the most and asked for their input. I hope you guys enjoy reading what everyone thought. I will be releasing these every day this week so email me at @JSWahman723@aol.com if you want to be a part of it. Todays participants include: @Baseboy124 @punkingirl138  @warrenkingii @DanielSpencer  @CardsFan_L1C4   & last but not least the team Grandma @UofLFanatic

Thanks CardNation and Enjoy!

I love EVERYTHING about GameDay!!! From The Card March giving the players high fives as they walk thru the tunnel, the random C-A-R-D-S chants, the walk to my seat and especially the entrance video as the team gets ready to take the field along with the sound of the Train horn. #GoCards

Game day is always special for many reasons: 1. Being with friends and family, especially those I usually only see at UofL sporting events. 2. Seeing all of the love for my Cardinals from so many people in one place. 3. Hearing/ watching the marching band. 4. Feeling the adrenaline and excitement when the team comes out onto the field. And of course, last and certainly not least, 5. Experiencing the jubilation of victory! GO CARDS!

My favorite part of game day is spending time with my family at the games. It is really a mini-family reunion for us.  We get to our seats about 15 minutes before kick-off just to take in the sights and catch up.  We haven’t missed a kick-off since becoming season ticket holders in 2007 and don’t plan to start now.

What I love about game day is the butterflies. That feeling you get before the game starts, the anticipation and the excitement you have to watch your team go out and do what they have been working hard for all week. I love getting to hang out with other Cards fans as we talk about what’s going on in CardNation from the game before, the upcoming schedule/games, or the basketball team and of course doing the CARDS Cheer. Overall, the best part about gameday is actually getting to watch your team out on the field and cheering them on during the
plays. Cheering every snap, pass, run, reception and scoring play that takes place. Booing every dumb call or penalty the refs make against us. Hearing Sean Moth say…”That’s Good for another CARDS FIRST DOWN.” Being there in the stands to show that we are One Nation..CardNATION! Louisville FIRST Cards FOREVER!

Honestly I have only been fortunate enough to go to one game two years ago…when we smashed Syracuse. The time that I did have though was great an unbelievable experience. The fans, the atmosphere, aw man unexplainable feeling. At home I watch every game if it’s televised and if it ain’t on TV I watch it however possible and if not I’m pi**ed lol. Rituals lol, man I’m uncontrollable during games after we score touchdowns, interceptions, anything that happens big in the game (no matter what sport we are playing) I’m amped up, I run down my hallway I get so excited like I said uncontrollable. Being that I am the only Louisville fan in my house besides my daughter, who is more worried about what she’s going to wear tomorrow. The opening video gave chills. I cannot wait for Sunday. I love being a Louisville fan. We are the best fan base there is when it comes to the term fan, we ain’t fans we are a family. #L1C4!!!!!!

Gameday….I love the anticipation and optimism of the fans  and seeing that sea of red all there to support the team that I love so much.

I love seeing the team run through the smoke. So much pride wells up from inside of me that I feel as if I may burst. I feel as if I know so many of these young men personally, even though I really don’t. They feel like family and I want so desperately for them all to succeed.

I love to watch the guys celebrate after a big play–Teddy shaking his arm, as he does.  Calvin flying around the field with his arms extended…. Lozo saluting…the dancing…the chest bumps (especially when the coaches get involved).  I love their emotion. I love their love of the game and their pride in being a Cardinal.

Post-game, walking to the car, hearing the C-A-R-D-S chants gives me chills all over again.

From the time we enter PJCS until the time we leave–everything is my favorite thing.
