The No. 14 University of Louisville Field Hockey team defeated host Villanova 6-1 in a BIG EAST Conference matchup Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals improve to 13-4 on the season and 5-1 in league play, placing them in a three-way tie for first place along with No. 4 Connecticut and No. 10 Old Dominion. The Wildcats drop to 3-11 (0-6 BIG EAST).Freshman Shannon Sloss scored a pair of goals and sophomore Elisa Garcia dished out two assists while goalkeeper Sydney King had four saves to help lead the Cardinals to a 6-1 win over Villanova.
UofL (13-4, 5-1 BIG EAST) returns to action on Nov. 1 when the Cardinals play host to Providence at 6 p.m. in their BIG EAST regular season finale. On Sunday, Nov. 3, Louisville will honor seniors Michelle Amon, Kelsey Rosenmeier and Erin Schneidtmiller on Sunday, Nov. 3 when the Cards face Kent State at 12 p.m.
