Junior Nolan Moore connected for the game-winning goal with less than three minutes remaining in regulation to lift the No. 6 Louisville men’s soccer team to a 2-1 road win over Memphis on Saturday night at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.
With their fifth road victory of the season, the Cardinals improved to 10-3-2 overall and remained in sole possession of first place in the American Athletic Conference standings with 16 points and a 5-1-1 record. Memphis dropped to 9-7-1 overall and 3-5-0 in conference matches.
Saturday’s win also marked the seventh straight season Louisville has won at least 10 matches extending the longest such streak in school history. With only one conference match remaining against USF at home on Sunday, Nov. 3, the Cardinals enter the final week of the regular season in control of their own destiny in the race for the American Athletic Conference regular season championship.
