Jimmy Terry plans to give the Cards a BIG commitment!
Bobby Petrino is certainly making it known that offensive line is a need for this class. Jimmy Terry of Madison, Mississippi will become the 5th offensive lineman to commit to the Cards. Terry plays guard and is listed at 6’4 and 350 pounds! Scout.com shows that he was being shown interest from (but no offers yet): Alabama, Florida, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, and Southern Miss.
Terry committed to Georgia Southern last week, but the Cards just offered him. He talked to Howie Lindsey of CardinalSports.com and said “I’m signing with Louisville on Wednesday.” Howie has a good interview with him you can read.
Terry spoke with WAPT News in Jackson, Mississippi. “It’s kind of surreal because I felt like I was going to have to go to Junior College or go to the Sunbelt (conference) but I feel like it’s a better opportunity for me and for my career so I couldn’t miss it.”
His coach, Bobby Hall said “He’s the greatest player I’ve ever had that went basically unrecruited, and it’s just been a mystery to me. But he’s a guy that can play football for a long time. He is very talented, very powerful, and he’s got a little mean streak. I don’t stand on the table for just anybody, this guy can play.”
WAPT asked what UofL will get from Terry from day 1. “A great offensive lineman,” he said. “An offensive lineman that’s willing to work, willing to grind, do anything to help my team win.”
The other offensive linemen committed are Danny Burns, Lukayus McNeil, Kelby Johnson, and Quincy McKinney.
This will give the Cards about 52 commits since Friday. Not really, but it seems that way!
The Scout writer in Mississippi seems to think highly of him.
Here is his Hudl page with some highlights. Hard to get too much while watching a guard, but better than nothing.
