There is ALWAYS a story with Johnny Manziel. On draft night, you thought the story was that he slid down the first round so much. Or maybe it was that he still did his “money team” sign after being picked 22nd.

Or how about this one: he sent a text to the quarterbacks coach for the Browns, Dowell Loggains, that said “I wish you guys would come get me. Hurry up and draft me because I want to wreck this league together.” Um, WHAT?!

Friday

According to this ESPN post, Loggains said “When I got that text, I forwarded it to the owner (Jimmy Haslam) and to the head coach (Mike Pettine). I’m like, ‘This guy wants to be here. He wants to be part of it.’ As soon as that happened, Mr. Haslam said, ‘Pull the trigger. We’re trading up to go get this guy.'”

So there it is. Manziel texted them, and they picked him; sounds about right. Now I am just waiting for the moment where every quarterbacks coach in the NFL comes out and shows that they got the same exact text from Manziel that night. Enjoy that guy, Cleveland. There will never be a dull moment.
