One of Louisville’s targets in the 2015 class is point guard Isaiah Briscoe from Union, New Jersey. He is 6’3 and 200 lbs and is rated as a 5-star prospect by ESPN, 247 Sports, and Rivals. Scout has him as a 4-star player. According to this post by Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.com, Briscoe will cut his list down to 8 schools later this month. He has a busy month of USA Basketball tryouts, so cutting his list may not happen until the end of June.

ESPN ranks him as the 20th best player in the country and the 5th best point guard. 247 Sports has him as the 3rd best point guard. Rivals has him as the 19th best player in the country. Scout has him has the 26th best player and the 7th best point guard in the country.

This previous post from Zagoria says that the schools recruiting Briscoe the hardest are Louisville, Arizona, UConn, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and St. John’s. Also from the article:

Louisville recently offered after head coach Rick Pitino watched Briscoe work out at Roselle Catholic.

“Pitino is a great guy,” Briscoe said. “He’s a Hall of Fame coach and the things he says, you can believe it because you can see it for yourself. He’s not lying and is very laid-back guy.”

Louisville has told Briscoe that he’ll be able to play immediately as a freshman, which is important to him.

“[Pitino] said that he’s never promised a freshman that he’ll play right away, but he promised me that I’ll play,” he said. “He didn’t promise a starting position, but he said that I’ll get in.”

He added: “Playing time matters. Who doesn’t want to play right away? I got to be realistic, but I want a coach who can let me play through freshman mistakes.”

Here are highlights of him just posted a little over a week ago, so very recent.
