During Saturday’s scrimmage, running back Michael Dyer suffered a quad contusion that has held the senior out of practice since. The injury likely occurred by a helmet hitting his thigh. Bobby Petrino met with reporters after practice on Tuesday. Asked if Dyer would be ready for the Miami game on September 1, Petrino said “I hope so.”

He said that the running back is day-to-day. They are now having to wait until the swelling goes down for further diagnosis.

If Dyer is unable to go, the Cards will be down to just Dominique Brown, L.J. Scott, Corvin Lamb, and Brandon Radcliff at the running back spot. (Sarcasm alert) But obviously, the hope is that Dyer will be ready to go by then.
