The Louisville Cardinals have signed their first football commit from the 2015 class. Traveon Samuel, a 4-star athlete on ESPN.com, is the first official signee for the Cards. Samuel is from Phenix City, Alabama and is one of the most dynamic play-makers in the class.
According to GoCards.com, Samuel had 1,764 all-purpose yards this season as a senior. He had 861 rushing yards with 11 touchdowns and 553 receiving yards with 3 touchdowns. 247 Sports lists him at 5’8 and 180 pounds and has him running a 4.41 40-yard dash.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Samuel broke his fibula in his team’s first round playoff game, so he is currently rehabbing from that. He will enroll at Louisville this January for the winter semester. It always helps guys when they enroll early and get a head start on learning the playbook and adjusting to the college environment.
