The following was posted on Rivals.com on Monday night and was tweeted out by Andrew Bone, who covers the state of Alabama for Rivals. Apparently, the Cards are parting ways with one of their early commitments in the 2015 class, offensive lineman Troy Thingstad.

Despite being committed to Louisville since May, three-star Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul’s offensive lineman Troy Thingstad was forced to reopen his commitment on Monday after the Cardinals coaches informed him they were no longer going to honor his scholarship offer. While the news came at an inopportune time, Thingstad said he’s turning the page to the future and looking at his options. While he’s had less than 24 hours to digest the news, he said Minnesota, Kentucky and Southern Miss has all been in touch. He will spend the week in Montgomery trying to get back on the recruiting scene, and said following the dead period he intends on visiting Minnesota, Southern Miss and perhaps Kentucky before making a final decision.

Obviously, one of the unfortunate sides of college recruiting. We wish Thingstad the best.
