A few takeaways from Louisville’s 76-67 win at WKU

Louisville went into a rough WKU environment and came away with a 76-67 win. Here are some of the things I took away from the game.

The Montrezl Harrell ejection: Did Trez earn an ejection yes. Did a couple WKU players also earn an ejection yes.

From the start of the game it was clear that WKU was going with the “UK Football” strategy of acting like fools and hope it works. Trez unfortunately fell for it but thankfully was ejected on a “Flagrant 2” foul and will be in uniform for Tuesday’s game against Cal State Northridge.

Terry Rozier is flat out unguardable: Terry again stepped up for this team when they needed him most and scored 26 2nd half points on  his way to a 32 point day. It seems as though every time WKU would cut the lead down Rozier would hit the big shot. At one point Rozier scored 17 straight points for the Cards……….17 STRAIGHT POINTS!! Terry got in the lane at will and I don’t believe there is a team out there that can stop him from doing just that.

Free Throw Shooting: The Cards have struggled from the line this season but that wasn’t the case today. Louisville shot 87% from the line hitting 26-30. If this is a trend that continues as the season goes on the Cards will be in VERY good shape.

ANAS! ANAS! ANAS! “The Big DeNile”: Anas may have stole the show today. In 23 minutes of playing time in his first ever road game Anas finished with 6 points 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. The big man changed the game around the rim and gave us a few glimpses of the soon to come Air Egyptian brand with 2 thunder dunks. Put 20 pounds on this guy and WATCH OUT!!

The Cards will be in action again this Tuesday against Reggie Theus and the Cal State Northridge Matadors. Game will be on ESPNU at 7:00 pm
