This week on 55………..
We talk about an array of things. Where are the Cards in this weeks polls? Will Todd Grantham single handedly crush our recruiting class? The ESPN/UL radio venture and my favorite teammates at UL. Also in a few weeks I will take a trip to hokie land to do an ACC podcast and much much more…
Without further adieu, here are the most ridiculous, outlandish, interesting or just downright obnoxious things I have heard this week. THIS is 55…..
-The Cards that we all knew were there showed up yesterday afternoon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Cards defeat the Panthers 80-68 becoming the first team with 4 wins at the P.E.C. The Cards shot 65% from the field missing a total of 16 shots, 3 of those being blocked shots. Terry Rozier led the way with 26 points off of 10-16 shooting. Fellow Wooden award watchee Montrezl Harrell added 18 points and 7 rebounds. Chris Jones added 17 points,9 assists and 5 rebounds and Mango Mathiang shot a perfect 3-3 from the field and 5-5 from the free throw line. Mathiang was a 37% shooter prior to the game. The Cards are scheduled to face BC in a game that may be in jeopardy on Wednesday at BC due to weather. The Cards then host the #13 ranked TarHeels on Saturday.
-Speaking of rankings the new polls came out today for the AP and Coaches. UofL remained at #10 in the AP poll and moved up one spot in the Coaches poll.
-To the Women we go….The Women’s Basketball team held on to defeat a tough Miami squad last night 68-55 at the Yum! Center after a disappointing loss at FSU earlier in the week 68-63. The Cards overcame a 21-1 start from FSU to take the lead late in the second half but could not hold on. Sara Hammond took over in the 2nd half scoring 14 in a row at one point to give UL a 6 point lead. Against Miami it was a different story. The ladies came out and played like they got embarrassed earlier in the week ant knocked off a scrappy Miami team. Despite another slow start, the Cards went on a 41-24 run in the second half to get the W. Myisha Hines-Allen scored a career high 23 points off of 10-11 shooting from the field. Bria Smith added 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists. The Cards have a tough task this week hosting #23 Syracuse Thursday in search of Jeff Walz 200th win at UL! He is 199-72.
-For the women, only the AP poll has come out. The Cards drop 4 spots to #8 and FSU leaps to #9. Other ACC schools include Notre Dame at #4,UNC at #16, Duke at #17 and Syracuse at #23.
-In a story you may have read here at CSZ, DC Todd Grantham has been named the favorite for the same position with the Oakland Raiders. It would most certainly cost us numerous recruits for next season. We will update you as we hear more.
-Yes, I too am angry Roman Reigns won the Rumble. I love wrestling too…. #sorrynotsorry #wellmaybealittle
Time to catch you up on this week in Cardinal Athletics….
-The #4 ranked UofL Men’s Swimming & Diving team defeated uk 211-89 on uk’s Senior day Saturday in Lexington. The #19 ranked Women’s team scraped by uk 155-145 after the cats won 3 out 4 events the last day to finish the meet. After the match uk fans threw snowballs at the UofL team as they left the facility. Not where I would think the trash-talking and erratic behavior would happen.
-Men’s Tennis traveled to Virginia to get some revenge on them for being so dominant so far this season in our maiden year in the ACC. Didn’t change at all. Virginia defeated UL 5-0 on Saturday a day after UL swept VCU 4-0. The Cards will next host Oregon and Morehead St on Feb 8th.
-Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 4 Duke at ITA Kickoff Weekend and suffer their first loss this season 4-0. The Cards also played Furman (not the detective) and won 4-0 on Saturday. The Cards host Xavier and NKU on Sunday Feb 1.
(From GoCards.com)-
The Louisville track and field team set two school records at the Vanderbilt Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Vanderbilt Student Rec Center. Chanel Krause set a new school record in the pole vault while the men’s 4×400 meter relay team set a new record as well.
The Cards will travel to the IU relays this weekend…
-Also the University of Louisville Softball team will open up it’s season next Friday the 6th in a 3 day event. The Cards will face UC Davis, UNLV, CSU Bakersfield, #15 Minnesota and #11 Washington in this event. The Cards are receiving votes.

care of high voltage and other currents. The industrial recyclers profit from
selling the recycled metals to manufacturers.
The quality of power conductors must be cross checked by examining whether it.
