Take this post with a grain of salt. Jawon Pass, a big-time quarterback recruit and a name that Louisville fans probably know by now, said over the weekend that he has a final three.

From scout.com:

Asked who his finalists are, the Carver High star told Inside the Auburn Tigers, “Auburn, Alabama and Louisville and I am going to commit on July 16th.”

Pass, a 6-4 1/2, 211-pounder who will be a senior at Carver this season, had previously narrowed his list to five teams when he competed at the Elite 11 quarterback event semi-finals in Los Angeles. North Carolina and Virginia Tech didn’t make his new short list, but the Tigers, who did, gave him plenty of attention on Saturday.

Gus Malzahn, Auburn’s head coach, and offensive coordinator/quarterback coach Rhett Lashlee carefully watched Pass show his strong right arm in the event that featured high school teams from across the southeast.

When it is time to make his college choice, does the four-star quarterback have a factor or factors that will determine where he is headed? “I am just going to follow my heart and talk it over with my mom,” he said. “That is going to be it.”

All three schools appear to have a legitimate shot at landing Pass. His brother Khane is a freshman at Louisville. He lives about 30 minutes from Auburn and has always had a good relationship with the coaching staff. And Alabama is, well, Alabama so they always have a shot with anybody.

Right now, his crystal ball on 247 Sports reads Alabama 35%, Louisville 32%, Auburn 23%, and North Carolina 10%. His “final” three of Alabama, Auburn, and Louisville all have a quarterback committed in the class of 2016. Alabama has 4-star Jalen Hurts. Auburn has 4-star Woody Barrett. And Louisville has 3-star Tylin Oden.

He is set to announce his decision on July 16. To me, nothing will matter until National Signing Day on this one.
