Five former Cards were in action yesterday in the NBA Summer League. Here is how each of them did.
Russ Smith – Memphis Grizzlies
Russ had another solid game with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, and 5 turnovers. He was 4-10 from the field and 9-9 from the free throw line. Memphis beat Oklahoma City 87-81.
They face Orlando White in the “Championship” today at noon. Not quite as big as the NBA Finals, but pretty close. Go get ’em Russ.
Peyton Siva – Orlando Magic Blue
Siva started and had 8 points, 4 assists, 1 rebound, and 1 turnover as the Magic fell 91-85 to the Pacers. He was 2-7 from the field, 0-2 from the three point line, and 4-6 from the free throw line.
They play the Pacers again today at 2:00.
Terry Rozier – Boston Celtics
Rozier had another good game for the Celtics as he battled former UofL teammate Wayne Blackshear and the Spurs. He finished with 16 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers. He was 5-13 from the field, 2-3 from three, and 4-4 from the foul line. He has really had a solid summer to this point.
Boston plays Portland tomorrow at 8:00.
Wayne Blackshear – San Antonio Spurs
Wayne had his best game of the summer so far. In nearly 14 minutes of action, he had 9 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist. He was 3-4 from the field, 1-2 from three, and 2-2 from the free throw line. Sounds like he was finally able to play his game in this one. 🙂
