Louisville football has a lot of positive momentum on the recruiting trail these days, and we will see if they can cash in this weekend. Lyndell Wilson, the top linebacker in the country, will be visiting the Cards with a couple of his teammates. Wilson is an outside linebacker from Montgomery, Alabama (Carver High School).

Louisville tight end Charles Standberry also attended Carver High School, and that is who Wilson references in this tweet. How much can Standberry help?

Check out Wilson’s ratings on each of the four major recruiting sites:

ESPN: 5-star player, #14 player in the country, #1 outside linebacker in the country, #1 player in Alabama.

Rivals: 5-star player, #14 player in the country, #3 outside linebacker in the country, #3 player in Alabama.

247 Sports: 4-star player, #20 player in the country, #1 outside linebacker in the country, #1 player in Alabama.

Scout: 4-star player, #38 player in the country, #1 inside linebacker in the country.

Those are all impressive numbers. How about his offer sheet? Wilson has offers from: Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Clemson, Florida, Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon, USC, Tennessee, South Carolina, Miami, LSU, and more. You get the point. The kid can play college football wherever he wants to.

I usually don’t get too much into highlight videos, but man this one is nice. I don’t know what our chances are of getting Wilson out of the state of Alabama, but I like the way things are going lately and by getting him on campus, you just never know.
