Top linebacker in the country enjoyed Louisville

Lyndell Wilson is considered to be the top outside linebacker in the country according to ESPN and 247 Sports. Rivals has him as the third best. Scout has him has the top inside linebacker in the country. Either way you look at it, Wilson is one of the top recruits in the nation, and he was on UofL’s campus this weekend with some teammates from Carver High School in Montgomery, Alabama. I think it is safe to say that Wilson enjoyed his time at UofL…

The Cards will have an uphill battle here against in-state powers Alabama and Auburn. Auburn had said that Wilson didn’t fit what they were looking for, and it looked like both parties had moved on. However, Wilson was set to visit them this past week, so that “drama” may be over and the Tigers are interested. If there was a leader right now, it is probably Alabama. But Louisville has already shown this recruiting season that they will go right up against the powerhouses for recruits.

Also, getting him here lets him meet some of the current players and the staff. If he felt a strong connection with the coaches, that could help the Cards for sure. Another connection is sophomore Charles Standberry, who was Wilson’s teammate at Carver High School. So he at least already knows somebody on the team that came up here from his school.

By all accounts, and especially by the above tweet, whenever Wilson puts out a list of his top schools, Louisville should definitely find their name in the mix.
