It has been a hot rumor since the summer when the Cards played in Puerto Rico. But Coach Pitino confirmed on his latest blog today: Bompy will be making an appearance at the KFC Yum! Center! Pitino dropped this little nugget without much enthusiasm in his blog:
The big games are around the corner. The much awaited arrival of Bompy is going to happen. He will be here for the Minardi Classic. Mike Balado will interpret.
The thing I remember most about Bompy was as the game was nearing its end and Puerto Rico was going to beat Louisville, Bompy did a throat slash gesture as The Undertaker’s theme music was playing. I was actually quite jealous of the creativity, and wouldn’t be upset if we picked up on that tradition ourselves with the Cardinal Bird.
