When the 2nd set of self-imposed sanctions the thing that people worried about after they collected their thoughts was: How will we recruit? I say after because when they were announced, people acted like they were unaware that these sanctions were coming down. We all assumed that reduction of scholarships, recruiting restrictions and a suspension for Coach P were on their way. (Side Note: When they announce Coach P’s suspension, do not repeat hysteria) Anyways, let me digress for a moment. We all wondered what the staff would do to make up for the things handed down. We speculated on them taking advantage of AAU tournaments in Louisville this summer as they would not have to travel at all which would aid them greatly restriction wise. Another thing that has seemingly aided them is the unexpected notion from their recruits of what Louisville is going through and the knowledge that it won’t affect them when they arrive on campus.
Target Zach Dawson: “I did research and everything with my dad, and I know it won’t affect me. So They are still the top choice.” Zack told Jeff Greer from the CJ.
Other targets such as Quade Green say that the coaches have already seen what he can do. The best thing about when these sanctions hit are that Louisville’s coaches had seen the majority of them already. Coach Pitino going the extra mile by using FaceTime and simply talking to them every day on the phone is also a great way around the restrictions. The worst is over CardNation and we have just the right guy captaining this ship.
