The Football season is getting closer and closer by the day. A majority if not all of the publications have come out with their pre-season top 25’s and Louisville has appeared on them. There is now a new trend on the horizon, picking Louisville for the College Football Playoff. I started seeing it here and there a few weeks back but this morning ESPN Insider KC Joyner had the following words to say:
There are 128 teams playing at the highest level of college football, and they all start the season undefeated.
The harsh reality, though, is that only a fraction of those teams have a legitimate playoff chance. The vast majority are pretenders who would need a lot of luck to make a College Football Playoff run.
But there are a few super sleepers who are a step or two away from barging into the playoff bracket.
In this second part of a five-part series, let’s take a look at one of those sleepers: the Louisville Cardinals.
Now sure that statement doesn’t go into a ton of detail (none really) but it does flat-out say they are thinking Louisville could be in the mix. If you are an ESPN Insider you can check out the story in its entirety here. It does not take an insider to see what we already knew…Louisville is going to be really good.
