
University of Louisville swimming phenom, Kelsi Worrell makes her triumphant return to Louisville today.
Per a press release from the University of Louisville’s Sports Information Office, Worrell’s Southwest flight is scheduled to land in Louisville at 2:50PM.
Several members of the University of Louisville’s Swim & Dive team will be at the gates to congratulate Worrell on her spectacular performance at the Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska.
Worrell punched her ticket to Rio after placing first in the 100-meter butterfly. Worrell touched the wall in 56.48 seconds, defeating 2012 Olympic gold medalist Dana Vollmer, who posted a 57.21. Worrell’s time in the trials is the second fastest time in the world this year and the fifth fastest in history.
