Louisville vs Notre Dame: Postgame Breakdown

Notre Dame

The No. 9 Louisville Cardinals suffered their 3rd loss of the season on the road at No. 23 Notre Dame, by a score of 77-70. The Cardinals started slow, but appeared to shake off the rust at times; however, they never put together consistent stretches of play and in the end it doomed the Cardinals.

Donovan Mitchell led the way with 20 points, Quentin Snider added 12, and Deng Adel finished with 10. Anas Mahmoud was once again a force on the defensive end but no Cardinal big man contributed more than 6 points.

Let’s not forget about the expectations going into the tough 4 game stretch the Cardinals just endured. Most of us fans would have liked to win 3 of those games, but would also take beating Kentucky and only winning one of the other 3. I’m still happy with how those games went, that’s a stretch of games no other team has seen in such quick succession and our team grew a lot and have a lot of great things going for them. Yes, there needs to be some adjustments made, but all in all, I’m very happy with how this team is progressing.

Up next, the Cards travel to Georgia to face Georgia Tech on Saturday at 2pm, the game can be seen on the ACC Network.

Go Cards!
