Rick Pitino had a brief phone call with the Courier Journal’s Jeff Greer, in which he continues to say he is an innocent bystander in the FBI’s investigation of bribery in college basketball. Pitino also mentions that he hopes this team wins the national championship and he loves them, and David Padgett. David was announced as the interim head coach on Friday evening.
