On September 26, 2017, the day started off just like any other day. Most of us went to work, student athletes and students attended classes, naps were taken, never would anyone have guessed the landscape of college basketball would be potentially changed forever that day.
Jeff Greer with the Courier Journal sat down with some of the current players on the UofL men’s basketball team and asked them how they all found out about the FBI investigation. Anas was leaving a finance class, Quentin was taking a nap, VJ and Ryan were in a biology lab, everyone was going about their normal, every day business when a tsunami hit.
While everyone had the same initial reaction of shock and disbelief, it is the way Q, Anas and Adel stepped up to make sure the team did not fall apart. Their true leadership skills shined like never before in some of the toughest days of being a cardinal.
