The No. 19 Louisville Cardinals (2-0) play host to SIU (2-0) tonight at 7pm in the KFC YUM! Center.
While Louisville sits at 2-0, their two wins haven’t been by as big of margins as expected. SIU comes into this game posing a little more of a challenge than the Cards’ previous two opponents, but Louisville shouldn’t have a problem.
The focal point for tonight’s game for Louisville is showing their ability to grab a lead early and extend it throughout the game. Louisville battled George Mason for the full 40 minutes and only pulled away late. Against Omaha, Louisville saw a 20-point lead disappear and only went onto win by single digits.
If these games go as expected, they don’t tell much of a story. Louisville has yet to put together a full 40-minute performance against inferior opponents and needs to do so tonight or their problems may be bigger than it just being early in the season.
I think Louisville finally puts together a full game tonight and defeats SIU from tip-off to the final buzzer.
Louisville 80-Southern Illinois 60.
Go Cards!
