LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson has been named the ACC Offensive Back of the Week for the third time this season after his performance in the Cardinals’ 44-17 win over Kentucky this past weekend.
In leading the Cardinals to their third-straight win, Jackson was named the 2017 Howard Schnellenberger Most Valuable Player after totaling 372 yards of offense, breaking his own Louisville record, logging his 12th game in a single season with 300 yards of total offense.
He threw for 216 yards and two scores, while running for 156 on 18 carries – setting a school record for 100-yard rushing games in a season with nine. The native of Pompano Beach, Fla., became the first player in Louisville history to have two seasons with at least 1,300 yards rushing. He finished the regular season with 1,443 yards and 17 touchdowns this year.
The 2016 Heisman Trophy winner connected with Dez Fitzpatrick on a 29-yard touchdown thrown and hit Jaylen Smith with a 14-yard strike to close the scoring for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals concluded the regular season at 8-4 and will learn their postseason fate on Sunday.
