Louisville as a whole has been looking to add more speed. The signing of Yasir Abdullah goes a long way in accomplishing that goal. Yasir played high school football as Carol City in Miami, Florida.

Yasir, mostly played OLB but isn’t afraid of putting his hands on the ground and rushing the QB or dropping into coverage to confuse quarterbacks.

Yasir has a knack for finding the football. I know it’s an overused term in sports, but Yasir really has a high motor. He makes it look really easy and simple (find football, go after the football).

With his speed, Yasir made his fair share of stops in the backfield.
Other than Yasir’s speed, his eye discipline and the great use of his hands and the ability to tackle effectively can have this young man seeing some time on the field as a freshman.

He has a knowledge and understanding of the game that very few high school players have. Speed, strength, eye discipline, tackling and football IQ; this young man is special and I’m sure Coach Petrino and Coach Sirmon are excited to have him in the fold.
