The day we’ve all been looking forward to is here. In the state of Kentucky, this time of year has 3 days when the state celebrates: Christmas, New Year’s, and the biggest basketball rivalry game in the country.
Louisville travels to Lexington to take on the 16th ranked Wildcats today at 1pm, the game can be seen on CBS. Kentucky correctly sits as 5.5-point favorites.
In order for Louisville to win today, they’ll have to make someone not named Diallo or Knox lead the Cats. Louisville will have to weather the storm that is the raucous environment of Rupp arena. And lastly, Louisville will have to either block at least 6 shots or rebound the ball evenly with UK.
Predicting this game is tough, especially since it’s at Rupp this year. I think Padgett has his first-time coach’s rivalry luck today though and Louisville leaves Lexington with a win.
Prediction: Louisville 70-Kentucky 66.
